Here are some common questions and answers about our new, nature-based public school for the Nashville community.

Q: What will students learn at Tennessee Nature Academy?
A: Students will take all core academic subjects (Math, English, History, Science, P.E., Art, etc.) and will also participate in enriching electives related to the outdoors.

Q: What does “nature-based” mean?
A: All students will have time dedicated to learning and playing in nature. Projects will often be applied to the outdoors.

Q: What grades will Tennessee Nature Academy offer?
A: Tennessee Nature Academy will be grades 5-12, starting with grades 5 and 6 during the 2023-2024 school year.

Q: When will Tennessee Nature Academy open?
A: Tennessee Nature Academy is going through the authorization process during the 2021-2022 school year in order to be ready to open with 5th and 6th grade students for the 2023-2024 school year.

Q: Is there a cost to attend?
A: No, Tennessee Nature Academy is free to all residents of Davidson County.

Q: Is Tennessee Nature Academy hiring?
A: We will be hiring soon for positions that start Fall 2022 and Fall 2023. In the meantime, fill out this form so we can contact you as those become posted!
