Quick Info

Daily Schedule

Each day at Wild Discovery, participants will explore something scientific in the outdoor world and create something artistic. The mornings (8:00-12:00) will be structured, with he afternoons (12:00-4:00) will be primarily play-based and directed by choice and discovery. Parents may pick their children up at 1:00 if they are only wishing for a half day camp.

Wild Discovery will take place on the grounds of Mill Ridge Park in Davidson County, TN. Mill Ridge Park is a new regional park in the Nashville area. Students will explore the woods, grasslands, wetlands, and cedar glades of this magnificent place! (Participants will also have access to an indoor facility in case of inclement weather).

Preparation for Camp

No special preparations or experience is needed for participants! We will provide any specific gear or tools participants will use throughout the day (gloves, muck boots, etc). Participants only need to come dressed prepared to spend the day being active outdoors! (Participants will need to supply any medication, sunscreen, bug spray, or lotion they wish to use).

Wild Discovery?

We at Tennessee Nature Academy think that play and exploration are a crucial part of childhood development. Learning does not only happen in the classroom, but can take place in a forrest, a field, or garden! Wild Discovery is a great opportunity for you to “test out” nature-based learning and play for your child. We know that as soon as you see the impacts on your child, you’ll be hooked too!
